![]() | BARNES HALLBarnes Hall and the adjacent greenhouse provide lecture, laboratory, office and research space for the natural sciences. In addition a small museum area, an animal facility, student research labs, and a field prep room provide support for our students and faculty. Each lecture classroom is equipped with a presentation computer, digital projector and multimedia devices (VCR, DVD and document projector). A bank of laptop computers is also available for classroom interactivity. Many labs are outfitted with computers, digital interfaces and an array of direct interfacing instruments. A vareity of computer-interfaced probes are used for chemistry, cell biology, physiology and ecology. For field studies, newly acquired data acquisition devices complement traditional apparatus such as live traps and mist nets. The
chemistry department is well-outfitted with modern instrumentation
including NMR, mass spectrometer, infrared spectrometer, gas
spectrometer, and High Pressure Liquid Chromatography. The physics program provides support for chemistry and biology and utilizes two laboratories for classwork and student projects. ![]() |
